Success Stories
GSM
Association - Several different task works were performed since 1998,
which involved the development of a strategic planning for the approach
of the Brazilian market, with the purpose of showing the advantages of
the GSM cellular telephone technology standard at a time when nobody
even spoke about a standard for cellular telephone technology, and for
a market at that time fully dominated by TDMA/CDMA operators and
players. In this process, Pimenta has done not only a job of creating
an image, implementing and deploying a new concept and opinion making
with the specialized journalists, but also has oriented GSMA about the
authorities, politicians and opinion maker leaders to contact, and as a
result of this effort the Brazilian Government has chosen the 1.8 GHz
frequency band, the so called `Band C` for mobile telephony, claimed by
GSMA, which resulted in the entry of GSM operators into the market,
such as Tim, Oi and Telecom Americas.
Conectiva
Linux - The case of Conectiva, a small size company that has
introduced Linux operating system platform in the Brazilian market back
in 1998, when not even journalists knew what it was all about, can be
considered one of the Pimenta`s `specials`: the design and creation of
a concept and the making or formation of opinions. In this specific
case, we have disseminated the culture of Linux operating system as
being an alternative to Windows, and for this we have created the whole
corporate communication plan, with all the items required, such as the
development of the company`s speech, the organization of events,
editing and publishing of the Linux Magazine, and the positioning
towards Microsoft`s reaction, which has always been very strongly
against the entry of Linux and Conectiva. The outcome was an avalanche
of press meetings and conferences, the obtainment of a huge amount of
space in the press, online, radio and TV media, and the formation of an
extremely friendly and sympathetic image for Conectiva, for Linux, and
for free software.
Scopus
Tecnologia and CPM - A repositioning of the companies, which instead
of being recognized just as manufacturers wanted to become known as
full IT solution providers.
